Bagby
2026 · iOS app · personal tool · In progress
An iOS shopping list that speaks up when you walk into the store.
Link a list to the stores you'll visit and your lock screen shows what's left when you walk in. It remembers prices per store, so you know where the eggs are cheaper.

- Problem
- The list gets written in scraps during the day, then forgotten until you're home without the eggs. Other list apps only help if you remember to open them.
- Arriving
- Core Location watches the nearest 18 linked stores that still have something to buy (iOS caps an app at about 20 regions), plus one wider region that re-picks them as you move. No alerts at driving speed, and one per store per visit.
- In the aisle
- Tapping the alert keeps the list on the lock screen as a Live Activity with tick buttons, so you can check things off one-handed until the trip is done or you leave.
- Prices
- Each price you enter belongs to the store you're in. Bagby compares by unit price, per kg, per litre or per can, and shows which store is cheapest over time.
- Status
- In progress. I'm its first user.
