latch
2026 · developer tool · macos · closed beta
a mac notch control surface for supervising ai coding agents.
an attention and authorization layer that lives in the macbook notch. approvals, blocking questions, failures, and completions from codex, claude code, cursor, copilot, and kimi land in one ambient queue you resolve in a single action. a native swiftui/appkit app owns the state; a tiny signed hook forwarder relays each tool's hooks over a local unix socket and falls back to the source tool if the app is down. local-first, nothing leaves the machine.

- problem
- run three coding agents at once and each one asks for approval in its own window. the one that's blocked is always the one you aren't looking at.
- one queue
- approvals, blocking questions, failures, and completions from every agent land in one queue in the notch, ordered by what's waiting on you. each resolves in a single action without switching windows.
- the forwarder
- a tiny signed binary sits in each tool's hooks and relays events over a local unix socket. if the app isn't running, it steps aside and the tool asks the way it always did, so latch can never be the reason an agent stalls.
- local-first
- state lives in the native swiftui/appkit app. nothing leaves the machine, and there's no account to make.
- status
- in closed beta with a small group of people who run agents all day.
