control flow labs

software engineer · oct 2025 – mar 2026

store sales and ad spend in one view, instead of five tabs and a spreadsheet.

control flow labs runs growth for ecommerce brands. every week someone exported numbers from the store, the ad platforms, and analytics, and stitched them together in a spreadsheet before anyone could ask a question. i built the dashboard that made the stitching automatic.

typescript · next.js · postgres · cron jobs

problem
the answer to "is this campaign working?" lived in three tools that disagreed about dates, currencies, and what counts as an order. by the time the sheet was ready, the week it described was over.
ingestion
scheduled syncs pull orders and ad spend into one schema, normalized to the same day boundaries and currency, with each source's last sync shown on screen so nobody trusts stale numbers.
the view
one page per brand: revenue, spend, and return side by side, with every chart able to drop down to the orders and ads behind it.
outcome
analysis time down by 60%, and the weekly export retired.
